Weekly Write #8: My presentation & Epistolary fiction.

Yes, I FINALLY presented. I was the very last person in my class to present, which was the only place I didn’t want to be in. Either way, after stressing about the presentation for over a week, I finally went and it wasn’t too bad at all. For one, I didn’t even end up using the flashcards I made for the presentation at all, it just felt more natural to glance over the board and then add on thoughts from my mind. Also, I was way more confident than I expected myself to be. I’ve always hated presenting, however this was one of the first presentations ever that I was rather calm for. I’m glad it’s done, and went well so that I can relax.

In addition to me presenting at the end of class, a few other classmates presented as well on this last presentation day. Some of the themes and main ideas were really interesting and I loved how creative everyone was with their presentation layouts.

During class this week we also reviewed the short stories by Emma Donoghue that we each read. It was really interesting seeing the different story styles, and how all the characters as well as the plot was formed and described. I also think it’s so cool that Emma Donoghue based most of these stories off of truth, and she did a lot of research in order to write these stories. I’m really excited to continue this unit.
