This week everyone presented their topics of research. This assignment was rather broad, so it was really very interesting to see what topics everyone chose to dive into, and what take everyone took on the prompt given. I think this made me realize what a huge impact and role letters play in so many different aspects of life! Letters are found everywhere, within music, within art, within politics, within books, and so much more than just this! A common theme that I noticed throughout the presentations today is how most versions of letter writing as well as Art within letter writing are going out so of style. In todays world technology is taking over everything, especially in communication, but more recently in art as well with Artificial Intelligence. It is so unfortunate that there is such little appreciation and care for the authentic arts and how authentic writing letters is. What it comes down to is efficiency and speed, which is valued higher than the more meaningful and slower letter writing and art. Some of the other presentation topics that I really enjoyed include: Letters to Santa Claus and Prison pen pals. Letters are constantly connecting people and keeping them together.
On another note, we handed in our Letter #3 of gratitude today in class to be mailed soon. I am excited for my parent to receive it, since I decided to write to both of them. I also need to finish writing my final essay this week, however I would like to wait for my meeting with Annalise to go over the details once I have my final draft complete. Then I would like to finish the whole essay this weekend is possible so that I can focus on studing for my final exams.
Finally, on Thursday I presented. I honestly did not feel fully prepared to present, however I think I managed alright. I really enjoyed watching the rest of everyones presentations, we had so many unique interesting topics and different takes on the prompt!
