This week we focused on letters of gratitude for Thanksgiving. Our third letter was a thank you letter of gratitude to someone in our life that we are thankful for. For my letter, I wrote it to my mom. This semester has been a crazy hard one, from the transition itself into college as well as not being able to participate in my sport and adjusting to harder classes. My mom has been nothing but supportive along the way. She has driven down to pick me up from Muhlenberg countless times to pick me up when I just needed to be home.

This week is now Thanksgiving break, so I will be focusing on just getting my Final paper and presentation done. Today I went to the one button studio to try and practice my presentation and record it, however I could not plug my computer in or figure out how to start the recording, so I just recorded on my phone and presented with my laptop. I need to finish the writing piece this week. I picked out three sources of fiction books that incorporate epistolary style (letters). I picked:

1.) The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky- “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is about a 15-year-old boy, Charlie, who writes to a friend to cope with his grief after his friend commits suicide. The book follows Charlie through his freshman year of high school, as he adjusts to it as well as comes to grip with his past.

2.)I Hate Everyone but You by Allison Raskin and Gabe Dunn- The book is about two girls, Ava and Gen, who go off to college and keep in touch through Gmail emails/letters. It shows the power of friendship.

3.) Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer: The novel is about a teenage boy, Declan, and a teenage girl, Juliet, who have both experienced a major loss in their lives. The book goes in and out of epistolary form, switching between letters and classic narrative writing form.

I am going to take a few quotes from all of these sources to support my essay and presentation.
